The desktop time tracker is the default source of recorded work on ToptalExpert, but clients can decide whether manual time is also allowed on a project-by-project basis.
What manual time means
Manual time lets freelancers add billable time records when they could not log that work through the tracker.
Some clients prefer to keep this disabled so every billable hour is tied to tracker activity.
How to change the setting
- Open the project from the dashboard.
- Choose View Contract from the project options.
- Open the contract settings or popup where manual time permissions are managed.
- Enable or disable manual time and save the changes.
When to disable it
Disable manual time if you want every billable hour to come from the time tracker with activity evidence.
